Dear colleagues,

As a representative body, WFN thrives on collaboration with its many members and allies.  Throughout 2019 we had many opportunities to put this into practice.  From our ongoing Two Generation Advocacy cohort – comprised of  women’s foundations across four states working to eliminate the systems that keep women in poverty –  to the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council, to Women Funded 2019 – our signature gender equity conference, we explored, learned and made great strides for women, together.

Every day we strove to underscore the far-reaching impact of the financial power and influence of women.  Starting with our Women Moving Money event in April, continuing on through Women Funded 2019 in September, and then to the Unity Summit in November, we placed a global gender lens on climate justice, civic engagement, equity, and impact investing.  Through our sold-out events and our messaging to over 90,000 followers on social media, we worked to expand the definition of “investors” to include not only women’s foundations, but all philanthropists, venture capitalists, and women sharing their resources of expertise and wisdom.

Our network is ever-evolving, a living breathing organism with new leaders, new faces, and new visions. What remains consistent is women leading the way to a more just society.  As always, it is my honor to do this work with you.

In solidarity,

Cynthia
