Bay Area-based philanthropic advisor and independent consultant, Anuja Mendiratta, has worked with foundations, donors, nonprofits, funder groups, and government agencies on a range of critical gender justice, human rights, environmental, racial and social justice, and cross-movement issues for more than 20 years. Working on projects in California and nationally, Anuja clarifies focus, fosters relationships, builds capacity, strengthens movements, and leverages resources to advance justice and create greater impact. She serves as a strategist, thought-partner, grantmaker, bridge-builder, and facilitator for change. Anuja manages the Race, Gender and Human Rights Fund, which challenges the criminal justice system and mass incarceration and lifts up the leadership of formerly incarcerated cis and trans women in California’s justice movement. She cofounded the California Criminal Justice Funders Group. Anuja works with WFN to support its Women’s Economic Mobility Hubs initiative’s learning community, comprised of nine women’s foundations advancing women’s economic security across the U.S.
