Through the Night: Childcare in America
Concurrent Session
September 23, 2021 | 12:00 pm | Featured Film & Live Panel Discussion

Pre-screening of featured film available.

This year’s featured conference film screening, Through the Night by Loira Limbal, is a cinema verité portrait of three working NY mothers whose lives intersect at a 24-hour daycare center: a mother working the overnight shift as an essential worker at a hospital; another holding down three jobs to support her family; and a woman who for over two decades has cared for the children of parents with nowhere else to turn.

All conference attendees will receive an exclusive pre-screening opportunity 72 hours before the conference to screen the documentary in full.

This session is a live panel discussion with the film’s director, Loira Limbal, and experts in childcare infrastructure and policy development from the Iowa Women’s Foundation & the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona.
