Connie Wun, Ph.D.

AAPI Women Lead

Connie Wun, Ph.D. is a co-founder of AAPI Women Lead, an organization that aims to end violence against Asian and Pacific Islander women, girls of color and non-binary communities through a lens of solidarity, community accountability and transformative justice. Dr. Wun leads national community based research projects on race, gender, and state violence. She is currently a 2020 Soros Justice Fellow, who is examining race, gender, sex work, and the criminal justice system. Her research has been published in academic journals, book anthologies, and online publications. In 2021, Dr. Connie Wun was recognized on The Good Morning America’s Inspiration List and by the California API Legislative Caucus with the 2021 Excellence in Civil Rights Award. She’s been featured in interviews with NPR’s Code Switch, Democracy Now!, The ReidOut Show and Politically Re-Active. She is also a former high school teacher, college educator, sexual assault counselor, and sex worker.
