Netra is a nineteen-year-old adolescent girl pursuing her Bachelor in Arts degree from Mumbai. She is currently interning with Oscar Foundation as a Young Leader. She was one of the girl leaders of the EMpower COVID In Her Voice research. Her passion lies in football, both coaching and playing. She teaches football and other life skills to adolescent girls too.
“People have accused me of revealing my body because I wear shorts. They say I have been corrupted and will now corrupt the minds of young children in my community.” says Netra
After the demise of her father, Netra lives with her mother who works as a housemaid, and her sister who works as a retail assistant. “Having lost my father when I was 2 months old, I look up to my mother who has been a pillar of strength through many hardships in the family.”
