Sexual or intimate partner violence will be committed against 1 in 3 women, primarily by men, over the course of her lifetime. Canada, Australia, and other countries are elevating the issue, with Samoa recently naming gender-based violence (GBV) as a national security issue. While funding for programs has increased, that alone cannot eliminate GBV; new alliances and strategies are needed.
