Closing Plenary
Plenary
September 23, 2021 | 5:00 pm |

This closing plenary will feature our featured book author and illustrator in conversation, a comedy sketch from Maysoon Zayid, a special announcement from the White House – and more.

After an inspiring day of engaging and learning together as a global community, our closing plenary will end on a high note. Maysoon Zayid, writer, actor, comedian best known for her inspiring Ted Talk I got 99 problems … palsy is just one, will share her humorous reflections (think White House Correspondents Dinner) about feminism and gender equity with us. Speaking of the White House, Jennifer Klein, Co-Chair and Executive Director of the White House Gender Policy Council will also be sharing a breaking news announcement with the audience about recent policy developments.

We’ll also tackle difficult conversations about incarceration & gender justice with Dr. Connie Wun and Joy Messinger and learn strategies to reframe and dismantle systems of discrimination. In addition, we’ll hear from Jamia Wilson and Aurélia Durand, the author and illustrator of our featured conference book – This Book is Feminist: An Intersectional Primer for Next-Gen Changemakers.  Together, they’ll discuss feminism through art & literature; why Jamia wrote this book, why it matters, and what it means to build the tools for a new generation of feminist leaders and changemakers, together.

Finally, our closing plenary will end with inspiring remarks and gratitudes from the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Women’s Funding Network’s Board of Directors. Join us.
